Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was the lead of The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. They gained attention by their raunchy lyrics and punk-inspired style. The group did not have an enormous following in The United States. However, their popularity grew overseas especially in Japan. The band broke up in 1979, Ford started a lucrative solo career with heavy metal. After taking vocal lessons she released her solo debut album, 'Out For Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin on the Edge'. Ford went missing from the music scene for some time after the albums did not be a huge success. Ford returned to the scene with her hit album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly.
