Lita Rossana Ford or Lita Ford, as she's most commonly referred to as was an American born British guitarist and singer who led the female-only hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band did not enjoy an enormous following in their home country of the United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad especially in Japan. Following the split of the group in 1979 Ford embarked upon a successful solo career with heavy metal. Following vocal training, she released her solo debut album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Ford failed to make anything with either of them and was largely absent from the world of rock for about a decade. The hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in the year 1988. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever were both huge hit songs. However, the success of her career wasn't last long and after a few years she disappeared. The album 'Black' was released in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later it was back in the spotlight. The most recent album "Time Capsule" was released in the year 2016. She was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award by the Guitar Player Magazine.
