Lita Rossana Ford, also called Lita Ford is an American guitar player and singer who was born in the UK. She played lead guitar in The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all girls from the 1970s. Their punk rock music and raunchy lyrics made them recognized by the rock world. It wasn't possible for The Runaways to become an instant hit in the United States, however, they enjoyed a great deal of acclaim in other nations and in particular Japan. Ford was able to enjoy a long and successful career as a solo heavy metal musician after the group broke up together in 1979. After taking voice classes, Ford launched her first self-titled album "Out for Blood" and then "Dancin at the Edge". Ford vanished for some years from the music scene following the albums' failure to receive much attention. Her smashing hit, 'Lita came out in 1989. Kiss Me Deadly (single) as well as Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were among her greatest hits. Unfortunately her popularity was only short-lived, and she disappeared for a couple of years. Her release of Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen-year delay for the album 'Wicked Wonderland. The album she released most recently 'Time Capsule was released in 2016. The singer was honored with The Certified Guitar Legend Award by the Guitar Player Magazine.

And in 2011, she was awarded the Gracie Allen Awards awarded her with the award for Outstanding Female rising star award in a drama series or Special for the character she played on The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
