Lita Rossana Ford (also called Lita Ford is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist as a member of The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of females in the late 1970s. Their punk rock music and provocative lyrics helped them get noticed by the rock community. The group was not able to gain a lot of attention in the United States but earned huge popular internationally, especially in Japan. Ford started her own heavy-metal career after the breakup of her group in 1979. She took vocal lessons and released her first solo album 'Out for Blood followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford failed to make anything with either of them and disappeared from the world of rock for 10 years. Her smashing hit, 'Lita was released in the year 1989. Kiss Me Deadly was a big hit, as were the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, the success of her career wasn't long-lasting and for several years she went under the radar. She re-emerged with the release of 'Black in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland' about 15 years later. The year 2016 brought the release of her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Her name was given The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
