Lita Rossana Ford or Lita Ford as she is more commonly known, was an American-born British guitarist and singer who led the female-only hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The group wasn't popular in their home country of the United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Following the split of the group in 1979, Ford embarked upon a successful solo career in heavy metal. She began voice lessons, and then released her debut solo album 'Out for Blood then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford did not achieve anything with either of them and was largely absent from the world of rock for 10 years. In 1988, she debuted her most successful album "Lita". Both the song "Kiss Me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. Unfortunately her popularity was only short-lived, and she disappeared for a few years. She re-emerged with the release of 'Black in 1995. Then she released 'Wicked wonderland' almost 15 years later. In 2016, her most recent album, 'Timecapsule', was released. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
