Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to as Lita Ford) is an British born American singer on guitar who took the lead for The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. The group was admired for their provocative lyrics and punkish style. It was not possible for The Runaways to become a major hit in America however they did gain a fair amount of popularity in other countries particularly Japan. Ford had a long and successful career as a solo performer after the band split together in 1979. Her debut album as a solo artist was 'Dancin' On the Edge and was followed by the record Out for Blood. Ford was absent from the scene for several years after the albums did not gain much popularity. In 1988, she came back to the scene with a smashing album called "Lita. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' as well as the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever were both big hit songs. Unfortunately, the success of her career wasn't long-lasting and for several years, she was absent. The resurgence of her career came with albums "Black" in 1995 and "Wicked Wonderland" nearly fifteen years later. Her most recent album "Time Capsule," released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
