Lita Rossana Ford She was born in Britain and was an American guitarist, vocalist as well as music writer. The latter half of the 1970s she was a lead guitar for the hard-rocking all-girl group The Runaways. The group wasn't successful in their home country of the United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford was able to enjoy a long and successful career as a heavy-metal solo artist after the group split up in 1979. Following vocal training, she released her solo debut album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin' On The Edge'. Ford disappeared from rock for several years after her albums didn't be a huge success. The smash hit album "Lita" was launched by Ford in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. Her success was unfortunately short lived and for several years after, she went under the radar. The release of Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. The album "Time Capsule" was made available by her in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
