Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford as she is popularly known, was an American-born British guitarist and singer who led the women-only hard rock band The Runaways during the late 1970s. Although the band was not successful within the United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford had a long and prosperous career as a heavy-metal solo musician after the group broke up up in 1979. After taking voice lessons, she released her debut self-titled album "Out for Blood" followed by "Dancin in the Edge". The two albums didn't get much attention and Ford just vanished out of the scene for a couple of years. The smash-hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in 1988. The lead song "Kiss me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were huge hits. Her success was unfortunately short lived and for several more years, she disappeared. After releasing 'Black, in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland just 15 years later, she returned. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend award.
