Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to by the name Lita Ford) is a British born American singer on guitar who took the role of lead singer for The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. The group was admired for their provocative lyrics and punkish fashion. The band didn't have much of a following in the United States. However, their popularity grew overseas especially in Japan. Ford's solo heavy metal career had a great success following the band breakup. She began to take voice lessons before releasing her debut album "Out for Blood" and then "Dancin" in the Edge. Ford vanished for some decades from the world of music as the two albums failed to draw much attention. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' was released in the year 1989. the single 'Kiss me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' were both big success. Unfortunately her popularity was only short-lived, and she disappeared for several years. In 1995 she debuted "Black," and 15 years later 'Wicked Wonderland. Her most recent album "Time Capsule" was launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
