Lita Rossana Ford (also also known by the name Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was the role of lead singer for The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. They were noticed for their rebellious lyrics and punk-inspired style. The band didn't have an enormous following in their home country of the United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad especially in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the disbandment of her band in 1979. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' On the Edge, followed by her album Out for Blood. Ford disappeared from rock for several years after the albums did not be a huge success. In 1988, Ford returned to the music scene with a smashing album called 'Lita. The single 'Kiss Me Deadly and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever were both major hits. The success of her was not long-lasting and, for a few more years, she disappeared. The release of Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. In 2016, her most recent album'Time Capsule' was released. She was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
