Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford, as she's more commonly known, was an American-born British singer and guitarist who was the leader of the only female hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. While the group did not achieve much success in America but they enjoyed huge popularity overseas. That was the case especially in Japan. The band broke up in 1979 Ford started a lucrative solo career in the world of heavy metal. After taking vocal lessons she debuted her own solo album, 'Out For Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Ford failed to make anything with either of them and disappeared from the world of rock for about 10 years. In 1988, Ford returned to the world of music by releasing a dazzling album titled "Lita. Kiss Me Deadly (single) as well as Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were among her biggest hit songs. However, her success was only not long-lasting and, for a few additional years she was absent. Then she returned after the release of 'Black in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland' nearly 15 years after. Her most recent album 'Time Capsule was launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the award of a Certified Guitar Legend.
