Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford as she is popularly known as, was an American-born British singer and guitarist who was the leader of the only female hard rock band The Runaways during the late 1970s. Although the band was not success on the scene in the United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford had a long and prosperous career as a solo performer after the band split from 1979. She took vocal lessons and then released her debut solo album , 'Out For Blood' then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford's albums were not very well-received and she stayed away for several years. The smash-hit album "Lita" was launched by Ford in the year 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a big hit, as were the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her fame was short-lived, and she disappeared for several years. Then she returned after the release of 'Black in 1995 and 'Wicked Wonderland nearly 15 years after. In 2016, her most recent album, 'Timecapsule', was released. The singer was honored with The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
