Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford as she is more commonly known, was an American-born British guitarist and singer who was the leader of the only female hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band was never able to The Runaways to become a major hit in America however, they enjoyed a great deal of popularity in other countries, especially Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the breakup of her band in 1979. She began to take voice lessons before releasing her debut album "Out For Blood", followed by "Dancin" on the Edge. Ford went missing from the music scene for several years after both albums failed to become popular. The smash hit album "Lita" was made available by Ford in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were her most popular songs. The popularity of her was short-lived, and she disappeared for a few years. In 1995, she released "Black," and 15 years later , she released 'Wicked. 2016 saw the release of her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
