Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is an British born American singer on guitar who took as the lead vocalist for The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. They were noticed by their raunchy lyrics and punkish design. The band didn't have an enormous following within The United States. However, their popularity grew overseas especially in Japan. Ford's solo metal career was successful after the 1979 group break-up. She took voice lessons and then released her debut solo album , 'Out for Blood' and 'Dancin' On the Edge. Ford did not achieve much with either album and remained out of the realm of rock for a decade. In 1988, Ford released her smash album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were two of her biggest songs. Unfortunately her popularity was only brief, and she went under the radar for a few years. Re-emerging with albums "Black" in 1995 and "Wicked Wonderland", almost 15 years following. "Time Capsule," her debut album "Time Capsule" was made available by her in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
